Mónika Szente-Varga

Mónika Szente-Varga (1975). Historian (Ph.D. in 2005 and Habilitation in 2014, both at the University of Szeged). Associate Professor at the University of Public Service, Budapest since 2015, currently working for the Department of International Security Studies. She was Vice-Dean of the Faculty of International and European Studies, responsible for the areas related to education (2016-2019). She worked as a lecturer at the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities ‘Alfonso Vélez Pliego’ of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (Mexico) in 2006-2007, and at the Department of International Relations and Political Science of the Universidad de las Américas, Puebla, between 2006 and 2008. Her fields of research include both Modern and Contemporary History of Latin America; Interconnected History: diplomatic, consular, cultural and sport links between Hungary and Latin America, Cold War History, Contemporary Spain and International Migration. She is national coordinator for Hungary in the European Association of Latin American Historians (AHILA). Her recent article, co-authored with Hana Bortlová-Vondráková is: ‘Labor Migration Programs Within the Socialist Bloc. Cuban Guestworkers in Late Socialist Czechoslovakia and Hungary’, published in Labor History in 2021 (https://doi.org/10.1080/0023656X.2021.1908972).
Ágnes Sántha

Ágnes Sántha (1978), PhD, sociologist is an assistant professor at the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania, Faculty of Technical and Human Sciences Tirgu Mures, Department of Applied Social Sciences. She is coordinator of the study program Public Health. Her expertise is the sociology of health, particularly the social determinants of health and health literacy. She received her PhD in sociology from the Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences (2011) and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2013). She is invited to teach The Sociology of the Quality of Life at the Partium Christian University Oradea, and The Sociology of Public Opinion at the University of Arts Tirgu Mures. She is a member of the European Sociological Association (ESA) and the European Public Health Association (EUPHA). She is a member of the reviewer board of international peer-reviewed journals in social sciences.
Éva Jakusné Harnos

Éva Jakusné Harnos Applied linguist and language teacher. MA in English language teaching and Hungarian (Eötvös Lorán University, Budapest, 1984), dr. univ. in English linguistics (Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, 1989), Ph.D. in Linguistics (Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, 2005). Working in higher education since 2003. As an adjunct professor, specialized in applied linguistics, political discourse analysis, persuasion, deception and security studies.
Veronika Hornyák

Veronika Hornyák is a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Military Sciences of the Ludovika University of Public Service, and a Doctoral Fellow at the European Security and Defense College. Her PhD research focuses on gender mainstreaming in EU-led military missions. Alongside her doctoral studies, Veronika works as a consultant on capacity-building projects in the fields of internationalization, education, and gender equality.
Maria Katsigianni

Maria Katsigianni is a Ph.D candidate in the Department of International and European Studies (DIES), University of Piraeus, specializing in international negotiations. The subject of her thesis lies on International/European Economic Negotiations and in particular examines the Negotiations on Greek debt, held in 2015. She has an academic background in Economics (BSc) and Public Administration (BSc), as well as in the field of International and European Relations (MSc) and Public Management (MSc). She has dealt with issues of diffusion of innovation and research, but also of lifelong learning. Having been working in the private sector for about ten years has developed a wide range of skills that have turned her to a highly efficient and respected professional. She has been in charge of the Internship of the undergraduate students of the DIES- University of Piraeus for 7 years (2007-2014) and currently works as a researcher and project Manager in the European Programme Erasmus + KA3 "Teachers4Europe: setting an Agora for Democratic Culture" (2018-21) and to several other European Projects. In addition, she is an adult educator and teaches economic - oriented policies in public Vocutional Training Institutions (IEK). She has also attended a series of seminars in her fields of interest and holds a great experience in conference presentation. Her scientific research interests include the EU political and economic governance, the European integration and the EU financial assistance mechanisms.
